360° Panorama - Curzio Malaparte
House on Capri This modern, some say cubist, house was built during the 1930s. Malaparte was a reporter for Il Corriere del Sera during fascist times and spent some of his time in exile here when his writings did not agree with the political leaders. His analysis of the Italian personality was very sharp and humorous. For example he said most Italian politicans always back the winner. because, "It was never too late in change sides, and then act as you were always on their side, when you see who will win." You can see this tendency, even today, in Italian politics and world affairs. |
